November's Featured Wine -  Sparkling Shiraz 2011 - Just Released...We have prepared some of some our excellent 2004 vintage Shiraz (Traditional methode) and it is a hit! This sparkling shiraz has a wonderfully soft palate of fresh red fruits and berries...it is fresh, refined and flavoursome - $39 per bottle.   We use the traditional method of preparation as per methode champenoise (we are formally not allowed tuse this term however - as per the name 'Champagne'), however Duncan uses the same method to produce the sparkles in the bottle. He firstly has to get the wine to referment, bottles it while it is still fermenting and  then lets the magic happen in the bottle for a minimum of 12 months. The bottles are then disgorged by hand ( a messy job) ready for your enjoyment. Don't delay Christmas orders - 10% discount on case orders - see below:

Sparkling Chardonnay too of course... (Traditional methode, 2009 vintage ) at $29 per bottle. We will open a bottle of this every Saturday until New Year - come in for a tasting weekend and get your order in for Christmas/New Year.  Get a 10% discount on whole or mixed cases (by the 12 bottle case only). Email us to order your requests by the end of November. We are open every day except Christmas (25th) and Boxing Day (26th) 2011.

Bottle your own Organic Summer White (or Red)  Wine - on again...
We have  a few 50L kegs of organic dry  2011 Shiraz  and 2011 Chenin Blanc to bottle at your leisure. We can also provide bottles and corks if you like. The price is only $7.00 + GST per litre – available until stocks last. 

What's Happening in the Vineyard – lots of rain can be a challenge too...
We have had good rainfall this year haven't we? It's GREAT!! - But it means we face the threat of mildew with the extra humidity that the late rain.  We are managing the vineyard closely to counter this threat with lots of de-leafing around the fruit.  Our un-irrigated vineyard reflects the vintage year in the wines and we think that this year promises to be be quite a bountiful vintage! Free Book Exchange - We have plenty of room for more books, so when you want a happy home for your culled library (maybe after you get an e-reader for Xmas), give your books to us to re-distribute!  Mr Dickens would approve.

WWOOFS of the month (Willing Workers On Organic Farms) With us at the present time are two lovely young people from Toulouse in France - Mathieu and Carole.  They are assisting us in the vineyard with putting up wires and de-budding and de-leafing, also some bottling and labelling.  Vive la France!
