Spring at Harris Organic Wines -  What are we up to in Spring? - Lots!   Have a look and see if there is an event to suit you.  Springtime in the Swan Valley is all about wine, food and art:

• From September 3rd – release of Harris’ Organic Moscato “Rose Muscat”. Available for tasting every Saturday during September and October, free tasting to subscribers. This delightfully full-bodied sweet pink wine is proving very popular indeed - just like our friend and muse, the irrepressible JB!
• From September 3rd – We proudly released for our subscribers the 2010 Organic Vintage Shiraz.  Every Saturday in September and October, (free tasting to subscribers).                            
• Every Sunday morning in October, enjoy a walk in the Organic Vineyard with Duncan and Shep and talk about organic growing: $10 pp. from 10-11 am, includes wine tasting. Bookings essential.
• Taste the Swan Valley in our Organic Verdelhos, including current release dry Verdelhos and a barrel tasting of our liqueur Verdelhos. Date October 8th and Time, 2pm. Cost $10pp
• Woodfired Pizza and Wine by twilight is here from 6-8pm every Saturday night throughout Spring and Summer, RSVP essential please Telephone 92960216. 

  

 

Special Event: Swan Valley Winemakers Twilight Tasting

This is an INVITATION to one of the Highlights of the City of Perth featuring our Swan Valley Winemakers.

The Winemakers of the Swan Valley invite you to attend the 2011 Swan Valley Showcase Sundowner
overlooking the magnificent Swan River and South Perth. You will be treated to the award winning premium wines and fortified's from the 2011 Swan Valley Wine Show, and enjoy a selection of superb finger foods to compliment the wines.

Your host for the evening will be Peter Forrestal, wine reviewer for The Sunday Times and Quaff. Peter will join with the Winemakers of the Swan Valley to guide you through the different wine styles and varieties that are synonymous with the Swan Valley.

What's Happening in the Vineyard
Our lovely young wwoofs Celine and Mael from France have departed after their time here helping with the pruning and we have finished all our hand pruning at last...the vineyard year has now begun and we can look forward to budburst, thinning, training, de-leafing, putting the wires up... and on it goes.  Our 2011 vintage is absolutely wonderful - due to the careful management of our unirrigated vineyard during a drought period.  We were a bit worried about a continuation of drought conditions this year - but thankfully our un-irrigated vineyard has received good rains this winter and 2012 promises to be a bountiful vintage.
